Nizamabad: 6,649 Cases Settled in National Lok Adalat
In cybercrime cases, orders were issued for the return of ₹24,02,552 lost by victims to cyber fraudsters.
Nizamabad: As part of the National Lok Adalat held up to September 12, a total of 6,649 cases pending in various police stations across Nizamabad district were settled through compromise between the two parties, Nizamabad police commissioner P. Sai Chaitanya, said on Sunday.
The cases settled included 462 IPC, BNS and SLL cases, 71 cybercrime cases, 3,109 e-petty cases and 3,007 DD and Motor Vehicles Act cases.
In cybercrime cases, orders were issued for the return of `24,02,552 lost by victims to cyber fraudsters. Copies of the orders have been forwarded to the concerned bank nodal officers to facilitate the refund to the victims.
The commissioner said Lok Adalat provides a good opportunity to correct mistakes committed in a moment of anger and urged people not to get involved in unnecessary disputes that could adversely affect their lives.
He said that all cases eligible for compromise could be settled mutually, adding that “compromise is the best way forward.” He advised people who fall victim to cyber fraud to immediately call 1930 or file a complaint through the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal.
Sai Chaitanya congratulated the CCRB, court duty and cyber cell personnel, as well as other officers and staff, for their efforts in making the National Mega Lok Adalat successful.
