NIT Warangal Director Named ‘Face Of India 2026’
Serving as NIT Warangal director since 2023, Professor Subudhi has focused on strengthening research, innovation and digital governance at the institute.
WARANGAL: NIT Warangal director professor Bidyadhar Subudhi has been recognised as the ‘IndiaSpark Face of India 2026’. The honour was announced as part of the ‘Academic Visionaries of India’ series in recognition of his distinguished contributions to engineering education, research, innovation and institutional leadership.
With more than three decades of experience in academics and research, Professor Subudhi has extensively worked on smart grids, renewable energy and electric vehicle systems. He has published over 300 research papers, authored six books and secured five patents. He has also guided more than 46 PhD scholars. A recipient of the prestigious J.C. Bose Fellowship, he is a fellow of the Indian National Academy of Engineering and the Institution of Engineering and Technology (UK).
Serving as NIT Warangal director since 2023, Professor Subudhi has focused on strengthening research, innovation and digital governance at the institute. He has taken several measures to further strengthen its academic and research ecosystem and create an environment that encourages young researchers.
IndiaSpark founder and CEO Rupa Tanti said it was a matter of pride to honour professor Subudhi. She said his leadership at NIT Warangal and research in the sustainable energy sector reflected the spirit of innovation in India.
