New Year Bonanza for NIMS Staff as Earned Leave Encashment Scheme Gets Nod

Hyderabad:In an early New Year boost to employees of the Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences (Nims), health minister Damodar Rajanarsimha has approved the long-pending scheme for annual surrender of earned leave encashment, fulfilling a key demand of the institute’s workforce.
Nims employees drawing AIIMS (Central) pay scales had been seeking the facility for several years. As per GO 230 issued on Monday, Nims employees will be eligible to surrender earned leave and receive cash benefits on par with government employees, in accordance with the Telangana Leave Rules, 1933.
The announcement triggered jubilation across the Nims campus, with staff and employee unions welcoming the move. They described the decision as a “New Year gift” and expressed gratitude to minister Rajanarsimha.
