Hyderabad: IT and Industries Minister D Sridhar Babu on Thursday inaugurated the 4th largest Lifesciences company in the world - MSD’s new Technology Centre in Hyderabad. It is an important milestone in Hyderabad’s evolving life sciences story.

Telangana has built a formidable end-to-end life sciences ecosystem, with 2,000 plus companies spanning APIs, bulk drugs, generics, CDMO, vaccines, medical and clinical research, and discovery.

“Over the last two years, we have built on this foundation. Our focus is now on discovery, innovation, advanced R&D and global capability creation. We have welcomed global companies including Amgen, Eli Lilly, Bristol Myers Squibb, Sanofi, Align Technology and Zoetis,” he said.

MSD’s new Technology Centre is a natural fit for this ecosystem. Hyderabad brings together two powerful strengths: Genome Valley and its life sciences capabilities, alongside one of India’s largest technology corridors. This proximity brings science, technology and talent together. It creates a strong platform for global companies to build solutions for the world.

This is the next phase of Hyderabad’s growth. “We are building on our manufacturing and scientific strengths to accelerate innovation and discovery. Through our Next-Gen Life Sciences Policy 2026–30, we are strengthening this convergence,” he explained.

“We will soon reach 100 GCCs this year, building on the 75 plus established last year and creating four lakh direct and indirect high-value opportunities. Proud to welcome MSD to Telangana,” the Minister added.
