HYDERABAD: The Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the Moinabad farmhouse firing and drugs case secured three‑day police custody of former MLA Pilot Rohith Reddy, his brother Ritesh Reddy, and businessman Namith Sharma.

Officials said the custody was granted by the Upperpally court following a request from SIT and Moinabad investigation officers. The three accused are to be interrogated further in connection with the March 14 raid on Rohith Reddy’s farmhouse, during which two grams of cocaine were reportedly seized. Around 10 persons present at the farmhouse, including Rohith Reddy, Putta Mahesh Kumar and Moraganeni Ramesh, were detained at the time.

Police disclosed that six persons tested positive for narcotic consumption after being subjected to narco tests. During the raid, Namith Sharma allegedly fired rounds into the air, prompting investigators to collect gunshot residue samples as part of the probe.

Authorities said the three‑day custody will focus on tracing the source of narcotics, verifying the role of each accused, and examining the circumstances surrounding the firing incident. The SIT is expected to question the accused on supply networks, financial transactions and possible links to wider drug circulation.
