Meenakshi Rejects Rumours of ‘Internal Conspiracy’
Telangana Congress incharge denies internal sabotage, calls reports baseless.
Hyderabad: AICC Telangana incharge Meenakshi Natarajan has dismissed reports of an internal Congress conspiracy behind the rejection of her Rajya Sabha nomination papers from Madhya Pradesh, blaming the BJP for orchestrating a political plot to undermine democracy.
Speaking at Gandhi Bhavan on Sunday, she clarified that no criminal FIRs have been registered against her. She said she had only received legal notices from a private court complaint, which did not require disclosure under Section 33A of the Representation of the People Act as no criminal charges were framed.
Natarajan rejected claims of internal Congress members leaking information or plotting against her, calling such reports baseless distractions floated by the opposition. She alleged that the BJP, despite being ten votes short of the required threshold to win a third Rajya Sabha seat, deliberately fielded a candidate to facilitate what she termed “seat theft.”
