Meat Shops Shut On Gandhi Jayanthi

HYDERABAD: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has ordered the closure of all sheep, goat and cattle slaughterhouses, as well as retail meat and beef shops, within its limits on October 2, on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanthi. GHMC commissioner V. Karnan requested police commissioners to cooperate with municipal authorities in enforcing the closure. According to the notice, the orders were issued in accordance with a Standing Committee resolution marking Gandhi Jayanthi.
