Mancherial: Cop Suspended Over Viral Assault

Adilabad: Ramagundam police commissioner Amber Kishore Jha on Tuesday suspended police constable Ravi Prasad after a video went viral showing him, in an inebriated condition, assaulting his wife Sirisha on the street in Reddy Colony, Mancherial town, on Sunday. Mancherial police have registered a case under the SC and ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act and for dowry harassment, following a complaint lodged by Sirisha. Sirisha, who works as a senior assistant at the 13th Gudipeta police battalion, had married Ravi Prasad a few years ago after the two fell in love.

Madrasa teacher booked for abusing minor

Hyderabad: A madrasa teacher has been booked for sexually abusing a minor girl under Golconda police station limits on Tuesday. According to station house office Saidulu, the accused, Nastir Razak (19), a native of Bihar, had been working as a resident teacher at a madrasa in Paramount Colony, Tolichowki, for four months. He was hired to teach Arabic to the three daughters of the victim’s father.

On Monday night, around 9.30 pm, when the victim’s parents had gone to the hospital, Razak, allegedly sent one girl to the next room and sexually abused the second daughter, a seven-year-old, by touching her private parts, police said. After the parents returned, the child narrated the incident to them, following which the family lodged a complaint with Golconda police.
