Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka along with minister Ponnam Prabhakar campaigned in Puducherry on Friday in support of Congress-DMK Secular Progressive Alliance (SPA) candidates in Assembly elections on Friday. Bhatti urged voters to elect the alliance candidates supported by the alliance to protect democracy and safeguard the dignity and freedom granted by the Constitution.

Bhatti campaigned extensively in the Manavely Assembly constituency in support of Congress candidate Anantharaman, and in the M. Balam in support of Lakshmikant. The Deputy Chief Minister appealed to voters to bring the Congress back to power and “save Puducherry.”

He assured that the SPA was firmly committed to implementing all the promises it was making during the poll campaign. He cautioned voters not to believe the misinformation being spread by the NDA regarding the implementation of these guarantees. He emphasised that electing the SPA was the only way to ensure a bright future for Puducherry.

Responding to doubts about whether guarantees could be implemented, Bhatti said Telangana ws the answer. He stated that immediately after coming to power, the Congress government in Telangana began implementing its guarantees from the very first Cabinet meeting. He highlighted that farm loans worth ₹21,000 crore for 25 lakh farmer families have been waived. Additionally, ₹18,000 crore is being provided annually under the Rythu Bharosa scheme, at ₹12,000 per acre for farmers.
