Man Gets 10-Year Jail Term in Banjara Hills POCSO Case

Hyderabad: The Special Sessions Judge for POCSO Act cases here has sentenced a person Mohmmed Mohsin (45) to 10 years Rigorous Imprisonment (RI) in connection with a minor rape case booked against him at Banjara Hills police station.
The court has also imposed a fine of Rs.10,000 on him. On May 22, 2019, the minor girl’s mother lodged a complaint with the police stating her children had been sleeping at her brother-in-law Moshin’s due to the congested condition of their house,
On May 15, 2019, the victim developed vomiting and was taken to clinic and the next day she complained of stomach pain and was treated at the same clinic. The girl’s mother noticed stains on her clothes and enquired about it.
The girl informed her mother that Moshin violated her when she was sweeping the room and threatened her with dire consequences if she disclosed the incident. The victim further stated that on two earlier occasions, the accused touched her inappropriately.
Based on a complaint, the police booked a case and took her to Bharosa centre for recording of 180 BNS statement. The Bharosa team provided a range of counselling techniques to assist the victim and her family.
Additionally, they offered moral and emotional support through consistent follow-up sessions and involvement in workshops. The family was exceedingly happy to hear about the conviction.
