Let’s Make Kodangal Model for India, Says Revanth
Railway link, industrial park, temples and healthcare projects to drive Kodangal’s development.
Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Thursday called for setting aside political differences and working collectively to transform Kodangal Assembly constituency into a model for the state and the country.
Participating in a Dasara Atmeeya Sammelanam in his home constituency Kodangal in Vikarabad district, he interacted with residents, Congress leaders, party workers and public representatives.
He visited the Sri Mahalakshmi Venkateswara Swamy temple, popularly known as Kodangal Balaji temple, and reviewed the ongoing renovation work for which he laid the foundation stone in May this year. He said the reconstruction would enhance Kodangal’s prominence and attract devotees from neighbouring Karnataka. Several leaders had long aspired to develop the temple as a “Tirupati of the poor” in Telangana, but the project had been delayed repeatedly for various reasons, he said.
Revanth Reddy also reviewed the progress of the 430-bed hospital in Kodangal and works at the Sri Venkateswara Swamy temple in Daulatabad and Sri Venugopala Swamy temple in Kosgi. He urged people to set aside local differences and work together, stressing that minor disagreements in villages should not hinder the constituency’s progress. He called on sarpanches and local representatives to ensure that projects were completed by December 2027.
Recalling that Kodangal residents once had to travel to other places for education and other facilities, he said efforts were being made to transform the constituency into an education and industrial hub.
The Chief Minister said in-principle approvals had been secured for the Krishna-Vikarabad railway line to improve connectivity. Given the region’s abundant limestone reserves, all necessary permissions will be given for setting up cement manufacturing plants. He said the cement industry would generate employment opportunities for local youth.
He added that a major industrial park was being developed near Lagacharla and a 300-foot-wide road was planned from Kosgi directly to the Hyderabad International Airport.
