Leopard Poaching Gang Detained in Nizamabad

Nizamabad: A gang of suspected leopard poachers in connection with the killing of leopards in Nizamabad district were take into custody today.

According to reports, the poachers allegedly hunted leopards for their skin and claws.

Forest officials recently found the carcass of a leopard in the Tallapalli forest area of Bheemgal mandal. In a separate incident, another leopard carcass was recovered from a well in the Ramadugu forest area under the Indalwai Range.

Based on the investigation, police took several suspects from Dharpally and Bheemgal into custody. Further investigation is underway to ascertain the extent of the poaching network.

The Forest Department has stepped up measures to protect wildlife by installing surveillance cameras to monitor animal movement in forest areas.
