KTR’s PRO, PA Booked Over Assembly Standoff
Saifabad police book Mahesh and Mahender Reddy following BRS-police confrontation
Hyderabad: Saifabad police have booked a case against BRS working president K. T. Rama Rao’s public relations officer (PRO) Mahesh and personal assistant (PA) Mahender Reddy for allegedly obstructing police personnel from discharging their duties during a confrontation outside the Telangana Legislative Assembly.
The case was booked based on a complaint by reserve inspector Jangaiah, police said. The Saifabad Inspector said several petitions were received in connection with the Assembly incident and were being examined.
The incident occurred when Rama Rao, former minister T. Harish Rao and BRS legislators reached the Assembly wearing black shirts carrying slogans against Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and the Congress government. Police stopped them from entering the premises over the slogans, following which an argument and scuffle broke out.
Cases have already been booked against Rama Rao, Harish Rao and 12 BRS MLAs and MLCs in connection with the stand-off. Police were examining video footage and other evidence to establish the sequence of events. BRS also alleged that its legislators were assaulted by police personnel.
