The Panchayat Secretary accepted the bribe of Rs.50,000 from the complainant of the total bribe amount of Rs.1 lakh

Hyderabad: Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has registered a case against K. Surender, a Panchayat Secretary of Inmulnarva Village at Kothur mandal in Ranga Reddy district for demanding Rs.1 lakh

Of the total bribe amount of Rs.1 lakh, he accepted the bribe of Rs.50,000 from the complainant for showing official favour to set aside the notice given to the complainant regarding the construction work. Based on a complaint, the ACB officials registered a case and said that Surender performed his public duty improperly and dishonestly.

While accepting the bribe amount from the complainant near Indiana Hotel in Shamshabad, Surender escaped, officials said, adding that efforts were on to trace him.
