Hyderabad: Saudi Arabia-based industrial conglomerate Expertise on Tuesday offered to train and recruit about 5,000 skilled youth every year by partnering with Young India Skills University (YISU) of Telangana.

During a meeting with the Telangana Rising delegation led by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum summit at Davos, the company’s president and CEO Mohammed Ashif expressed strong interest in collaborating with the university.

Discussions focused on training and employability of YISU students, with the CEO proposing to train and recruit around 5,000 skilled youth annually from the university.

Expertise has a significant presence in the Middle East and provides industrial plant maintenance across skill-intensive sectors such as petrochemicals, oil and gas, fertilisers, steel, cement, water treatment and power generation.

Revanth Reddy informed the company leadership that YISU was established to bridge the gap between education and employment through industry-led curricula and hands-on practical exposure.

Minister D. Sridhar Babu said Telangana was building a future-ready talent base through foundational learning, advanced skilling, apprenticeships, mentorship and entrepreneurship, aligned with the State’s Vision 2047 and the goal of becoming a $3-trillion economy. He added that YISU was the first university in the country to be set up with fully industry-led management.

Ashif said Expertise was keen to partner with YISU to meet its workforce requirements. “We would like to partner with the Skills University and kickstart training the workforce in all the crafts we require,” he said, adding that the company plans to recruit around 5,000 skilled personnel every year through the collaboration
