Kothagudem: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Friday arrested T. Ravinder, the headmaster of Government School of Coolie Line in Kothagudem, after catching him red-handed accepting a bribe from a trainer. According to ACB DSP Y. Ramesh, Ravinder demanded Rs 20,000 to secure a defence training instructor for karate classes under a Central government scheme for the school’s girl students. The bribe was reportedly meant to offset his own fee of Rs 30,000 for conducting the training.
Following a complaint by the instructor, ACB officials devised a sting operation and caught the headmaster accepting the illicit payment. Forensic tests on his hands confirmed the presence of traces from the tainted money, which was subsequently seized by the authorities. Ravinder has now been arrested and will be produced before the special court for SPE and ACB cases in Warangal.
