Nalgonda: In an initiative aimed at encouraging academic excellence among underprivileged students, the Komatireddy Pratheek Reddy Foundation has arranged a flight journey to Visakhapatnam and an educational-cum-recreational tour to Araku Valley for 14 Class X toppers from government schools in Thipparthy mandal of Nalgonda district.

The students, who secured top marks in the annual examinations, were handed flight tickets by roads and buildings minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy at his camp office in the Ministers’ Quarters in Hyderabad on Friday. The foundation was established by the minister in memory of his son, Komatireddy Pratheek Reddy.

During earlier visits to government schools in Thipparthy mandal, Venkat Reddy had promised students a special reward if they performed well in their Class X examinations. Fulfilling that promise, the minister personally distributed the tickets to the selected students.

Speaking on the occasion, Venkat Reddy stressed the importance of education in transforming lives and creating opportunities. “Education is the most powerful tool to overcome poverty and create opportunities. Talent should never be limited by economic hardship. It is our responsibility to support and encourage deserving students to achieve greater heights,” he said.

The minister also encouraged students to think beyond conventional career choices and pursue bigger goals in life.

Foundation chief executive officer M.V. Gona Reddy said the students would travel from Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Hyderabad to Visakhapatnam and take part in a two-day educational tour covering major attractions in Visakhapatnam and Araku Valley. Accommodation has been arranged in a three-star hotel, while teachers and support staff will accompany the students to ensure a safe and comfortable journey.
