Kokapet Residents Flag Civic Woes

Hyderabad: Dust emanating from transport of construction material, excavation and other works, including infrastructure and buildings, road widening, a weak sewerage system, human‑snake encounters and less supply of drinking water are among the issues faced by residents of Kokapet.

When officials of Cyberabad Municipal Corporation (CMC), along with commissioner G. Srijana, visited Neopolis in Kokapet, residents and those from other parts of Narsingi Circle complained about bad roads, urban flooding, scarcity of drinking water supply and mosquito menace.

“I request the authorities to complete the road widening works, strengthen the sewerage network and increase water supply,” said Ranjith Reddy, president of Crown Whistling Woods in Kokapet. Other residents too complained that the road widening works at Power Welfare Society, starting from Allu Cinemas in Kokapet to Manga Reddy Circle, should be sped up.

“The road works commenced but were halted. This is resulting in traffic snarls, congestion and rough commute,” said a resident from the area.

Other complaints were related to door‑to‑door waste collection, mosquito control measures, streetlights, traffic congestion, parking management, wrong‑side driving, street dogs, scientific disposal of construction and demolition (C&D) waste, property tax and mutation‑related issues. They also urged for road connectivity improvements in the Kokapet–Neopolis area.

The CMC officials visited the area as part of the ‘One Ward Every Day’ programme. The commissioner directed the concerned departments to inspect all the issues on priority, coordinate with respective agencies wherever required, and take necessary action for their early resolution.
