ADILABAD: Kamareddy police seized 387 kg of dry ganja worth Rs 1.93 crore from a lorry transporting it under a load of jackfruits on NH 44, police said on Sunday.

Three persons were arrested. They were identified as Sheikh Karimullah, 41, Gaini Subhash, 35, and Sheikh Raheem, 50, all natives of Nizamabad.

Kamareddy SP M. Rajesh Chandra said police received information on June 20 that dry ganja was being transported from the Odisha border to Nashik in Maharashtra. Special teams were formed and vehicle checks were intensified.

Police found a suspicious lorry on the outskirts of Kysampalli village on Saturday evening. During inspection, they found ganja packets hidden beneath jackfruits in the vehicle.
