JNTUH Names Damodaram as Rector, Jaya Lakshmi as Registrar; Clears Madhira College

Hyderabad:JNTUH appointed Prof. A. Damodaram as rector, and Prof. A. Jaya Lakshmi as registrar at the 77th Executive Council meeting here on Tuesday. The meeting, chaired by JNTUH Vice Chancellor Dr T. Kishen Kumar Reddy, also ratified the temporary promotion of C.V. Subhramanyam, assistant registrar at UGC-MMTTC, JNTUH, as deputy registrar.
Among the key proposals approved was the establishment of a government engineering college in Madhira constituency in Khammam. The council also approved the transfer of administrative control of Government Engineering College in Kosgi to the JNTUH as a constituent college.
The meeting approved the proposal to submit a detailed report to the government seeking sanction of teaching and non-teaching posts for JNTUH’s constituent colleges. The proposal also sought the release of recurring and non-recurring expenditure for the colleges. It also ratified JNTUH’s MoU with Bajaj Auto Foundation for setting up Bajaj Engineering Skills Training (BEST) Labs and the appointment of assistant professors on contract against vacant posts at constituent colleges for the 2026-27 academic year.
