Jail and Fine for Defrauding Acquaintance Rs 10 Lakh for High-Paying Job
A police complaint filed by Sunder alleged that Abhilash claimed to have influential contacts and promised to secure him a high paying job in exchange for Rs 10 lakh, which he paid.
Hyderabad:Judge Ch. Sampath, VIII Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate at Nampally, sentenced Ananthula Abhilash to one year jail and Rs 10,000 fine for threatening and defrauding his acquaintance Shyam Sunder of Rs 10 lakh under the pretext of providing a high-salaried job.
A police complaint filed by Sunder alleged that Abhilash claimed to have influential contacts and promised to secure him a high paying job in exchange for Rs 10 lakh, which he paid. Abhilash issued a security cheque for the same amount and promised the high paying job after collecting blank cheques and a promissory note from the complainant. However, the accused delayed providing him with a job under various pretexts.
The police claimed when Sunder demanded his money back on March 3, 2017, Abhilash along with his associates barged into the complainant's residence and criminally intimidated him with dire consequences. A case was registered following a court referred complaint lodged on March 20, 2017, with the Chaderghat police who filed a chargesheet in court.
