Inter-State Thief Held; Gold, Silver Worth Rs 12 Lakh Recovered
The accused, Ashish Srinivas Reddy Malla, 27, a native of Peddapalli and currently residing in Chandrapur, Maharashtra, was arrested at Warangal railway station.
WARANGAL: Mills Colony and CCS police arrested an inter-state burglar on Monday and recovered gold and silver ornaments worth around Rs 12 lakh, along with cash and mobile phones, in connection with a series of house burglaries in Warangal.
The accused, Ashish Srinivas Reddy Malla, 27, a native of Peddapalli and currently residing in Chandrapur, Maharashtra, was arrested at Warangal railway station. Police recovered 70.19 grams of gold ornaments, 527.9 grams of silver, Rs 29,875 in cash and two mobile phones from him.
Following a series of burglaries under the Mills Colony police station limits, commissioner of police N. Swetha, IPS, directed special teams to investigate the cases using technical evidence. During the investigation, police identified and apprehended the suspect, who reportedly confessed to his involvement in several burglaries.
According to police, the accused identified locked houses during the daytime and targeted them at night. He allegedly committed burglaries in Shivanagar and SRR Nagar this year.
Police said the accused had also been arrested by Maharashtra police in connection with four similar burglary cases in 2024 and 2025 and was later released on bail.
