HYDERABAD: An Instagram photoshoot ended in tragedy after a 19-year-old youth drowned and another went missing in a lake at Thimmaipalli village under Keesara police station limits on Monday afternoon. Police identified the deceased as Kevin Antony, 19 and another youth, Valentine Tony, 18 remained missing till late in the evening, while a third youth, Joseph, a resident of Thimmaipalli village, managed to escape safely.
The trio went to Thimmaipalli cheruvu for an Instagram photoshoot when the mishap occurred at around 1 pm. During the outing, the teens accidentally entered deeper waters and began drowning. With the help of locals and rescue personnel, Antony’s body was retrieved from the lake, however, Tony remained untraceable.
Keesara police, along with the disaster response force teams, launched a search operation at the lake to trace the missing teenager. Rescue personnel continued combing the water body for several hours and the operation will be resumed on Tuesday. Police registered a case and initiated an investigation.
