VOTE CHORI: Warangal West MLA Naini Rajender Reddy, Wardhannapet MLA KR Nagaraju, Parkal MLA Revoori Prakash Reddy and others participate in the Democracy Protection Yatra organised by the Hanamkonda DCC and I.N.D.I.A. bloc in Hanamkonda on Monday, following the AICC’s directions.

Hanamkonda:The I.N.D.I.A. bloc organised a protest in Hanamkonda on Monday, demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.

Following the AICC’s call, the Hanamkonda district Congress committee conducted a ‘Save Democracy Padayatra’ from Ambedkar Centre. A protest was held in front of the collectorate, where participants raised slogans against the Centre and the Election Commission. They carried placards seeking protection of democracy and constitutional rights. They also burnt an effigy of Gyanesh Kumar.

Speaking at the protest, Warangal West MLA Naini Rajender Reddy alleged that the ruling party at the Centre was misusing the autonomous Election Commission for political gains. He said protecting the constitutional right to vote was the responsibility of everyone and demanded that the Election Commission function independently to ensure free and transparent elections.

MLAs Revoori Prakash Reddy and K.R. Nagaraju demanded a comprehensive inquiry into the allegations and objections raised against the electoral system and said the facts should be placed before the people.

They called for a transparent system to address voters’ concerns over changes in electoral rolls, deletion of votes and issues related to voting rights.

The MLAs alleged that the BJP government at the Centre was misusing democratic institutions to retain power. They said the Congress and I.N.D.I.A. bloc would not remain silent if people’s right to vote was undermined.

Huzurabad constituency in-charge Vodithela Pranav, leaders of I.N.D.I.A. bloc parties, representatives of various Congress wings and party workers participated.
