Implement BC reservations before local body polls: Harish tells government
The Congress in Telangana is yet to fulfil its promise of Rythu Bharosa, Harish Rao added.
Hyderabad: Elections to local bodies should be held only after the promised 42 per cent reservations for BC communities are enforced, senior BRS leader and former minister T. Harish Rao said on Tuesday.
“Today is the Promise Day and we are asking Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy to keep his promises to the people. Everyone has seen what happens when promises are not kept. Because the Congress governments in Telangana and Karnataka failed to do so, that party badly lost elections in other states,” Harish Rao said.
The Congress in Telangana is yet to fulfil its promise of Rythu Bharosa, he added.
Harish Rao was speaking in Konaipalli in Siddipet district after offering prayers at the Sri Venkateswara temple. “KCR began the movement from Telangana from this temple. Every important act of his started here,” he said.
Earlier, Harish Rao, accompanied by some farmers from Salendri village in Chinna Kodur mandal of Siddipet district, visited on the Ranganayakasagar canal bund and pointed out that it was water from the Kaleshwaram project built under the leadership of former chief minister K. Chandrashekar Rao that was flowing through the canal.
Harish Rao later spent some time with farmers growing sunflower crop, and said that the government must ensure a minimum support price for the crop. The government must in advance provide information on crop purchases, the MSPs, online, and ensure farmers get remunerative prices for their crops,” he said.
