HYDERABAD: Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president K.T. Rama Rao on Wednesday taunted Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy to dissolve the Assembly and go for fresh elections to prove his claim that he would be the Chief Minister for 10 years.

Talking to the press, Rama Rao said people of Telangana have realised what a “disaster for the state” the Congress rule has turned into. “Revanth Reddy keeps claiming that he will again win the next elections. If he is so confident, let him dissolve the Assembly, call for fresh elections. The BRS will return to power wining 90 plus seats if elections are held today. Such is the disenchantment with the Congress government among people,” Rama Rao said.

The Congress, he said, is, and has always been the “the first enemy of Telangana,” after repeatedly betraying the aspirations of the Telangana movement. “The Congress government has been an utter disaster. It came to power through false promises and failed to implement its guarantees to every section of the society,” Rama Rao said.

This is in stark contrast to the “remarkable progress under KCR's leadership in agriculture, irrigation, drinking water, education, healthcare, welfare and industrial growth,” he said. “K. Chandrashekar Rao is the BRS’ trump card and he will return to actively lead the fight against what Congress misrule,” he said.

Rama Raoi also criticised the government's handling of the Future City project, alleging that it is being used for real-estate interests. He announced that a future BRS government would review and cancel the project.
