Hyderabad: HYDRAA on Friday protected 13 acres of government land in Nizampet village of Bachupally mandal in Medchal–Malkajgiri district. The land is estimated to be worth around ₹1,300 crore.

Following a complaint from Bachupally mandal revenue officials about encroachments on government land in Survey Nos. 186, 191 and 334, HYDRAA was requested to intervene and secure the property. The officials reported that parts of the land had already been encroached upon and sought immediate fencing to prevent further illegal occupation.

Acting on the directions of HYDRAA Commissioner A.V. Ranganath, HYDRAA officials, along with revenue authorities, conducted a field inspection. It was confirmed that about four acres of government land in Survey No. 334 had already been encroached upon, with permanent residential structures constructed.

Without disturbing the existing residences, HYDRAA removed temporary sheds erected on the remaining 13 acres of government land. The agency then fenced the entire 13-acre stretch and installed HYDRA signboards to safeguard the property and prevent future encroachments.
