Amarnath is New HCA President

The Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) got a new president on Monday after its Ombudsman, retired Chief Justice Suresh Kumar Kait, removed incumbent chief A. Jagan Mohan Rao over serious allegations of misconduct and document fabrication. In a detailed order passed in Case No. 5 of 2025, the Ombudsman held that Jagan Mohan Rao did not deserve to continue as HCA president, noting the CID case against him and the High Court's bail condition restraining him from enter-ing HCA and related premises.
The petition was filed by Amarnath, secretary of Galaxy Cricket Club, who had lost the 2023 HCA presidential election by one vote, securing 62 votes against Jagan Mohan Rao's 63.

Amarnath vowed to work for the development of cricket in the region. "I will ensure cricket improves in the districts at the grassroot level, work towards identifying genuine talent and promote the game all over the state. I will also work towards improving the overall facilities for men and women cricketers in our state," he said.
