Hyderabad-Vijayawada, Warangal Highways Clogged in Post-Rakhi Weekend Return Rush

Hyderabad: A heavy return rush of people who travelled to their native places for Rakhi followed by the weekend led to slow-moving traffic on highways leading into the city on Sunday with police reporting heavier than usual vehicle movement on Hyderabad -Warangal and Hyderabad-Vijayawada highways.
Police personnel were deployed at the congested stretches to regulate vehicle movement and prevent bottlenecks. The return rush was expected to continued through the evening as schools, colleges and offices are to resume after the holidays on Monday.
Hayathnagar police also reported that the traffic volume was higher than usual on the Hyderabad-Vijayawada highway. Law and order police assisted traffic police personnel on the field to guide commuters and help clear the traffic, a Hayathnagar police official said. Personnel were stationed to guide motorists and ensure that traffic did not remain stalled for prolonged periods.
