Hyderabad:Hyderabad district collector Dr Priyanka Ala on Thursday briefed landowners — affected by the Rajiv Highway Elevated Corridor (State Highway-1) from Paradise Junction to Shamirpet — on the Transferable Development Rights (TDR) scheme and its benefits. She explained the TDR policy, eligibility criteria, applicable rules and the online application process through the BuildNow portal.

At an awareness meeting held at the Hyderabad Collectorate on Thursday, the collector said the value of TDR was directly linked to the rates fixed by the concerned sub-registrar office (SRO). If the applicable SRO rates increase in the future, the value of TDR would also increase in accordance with the prevailing rules, she explained.

The collector said TDR would be available as an optional mechanism for eligible landowners, subject to applicable regulations, eligibility conditions and legal requirements. She urged affected landowners to understand the scheme and make an informed decision about the options available to them.

Officials explained the procedure for using and transferring TDR, its key benefits and various situations in which it could be utilised.

The collector and officials also interacted with the affected landowners and clarified their doubts regarding TDR valuation, SRO rates, the online application process, utilisation and transfer of TDR.

District revenue officer Dr Narayana, SH-1 special deputy collector and Land Acquisition Officer Aparna, HMDA chief planning officer Ravinder Reddy, other officials and affected landowners attended the meeting.

As TDR is only an option and not compulsory, the property owners, who attended the meeting, said everybody should feel relieved.
