Hyderabad: 3 Young Innovators Selected in Top 40 of Samsung Solve for Tomorrow 2026
They are exploring its use in fog-prone communities, trekking camps and eco-stays
Hyderabad: Three innovators from the city have made it to the Top 40 of Samsung Solve for Tomorrow 2026 with technology-led solutions tackling water scarcity and athlete safety.
Nineteen-year-olds Thuregal Mohammed Ezaz Ali and Dokku Rithwik, as Team Mistify, are developing Hydryft, a compact system that captures moisture from fog using mesh and purifies it into usable water. They are exploring its use in fog-prone communities, trekking camps and eco-stays.
Another 19-year-old, Homanshika Reddy Pullagurla, is working with Team Somatrace on a wearable system that uses sensors to track spinal movement in real time. Initially being explored for rifle shooters, the technology is aimed at helping athletes and coaches identify movement patterns that could indicate potential injury risks during training.
Their selection places three Hyderabad youngsters among the national Top 40 in the fifth edition of the programme, which is for innovators aged 14 to 22. More than half of the Top 40 teams are from Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities, according to the organisers. The teams will now undergo a 10-day innovation bootcamp with start-up founders and industry experts at FITT-IIT Delhi. They will then compete for a place in the Top 20.
Four teams at the end of the programme will share ₹2 crore in incubation grants and receive incubation support from FITT-IIT Delhi to take their ideas towards further development and market readiness.
