Hyderabad: 16.46 kg Ganja Seized After Car Crash, 1 Held
Madhu confessed he had collected the bags from an unidentified man in Rajamahendravaram on August 14 after receiving Rs 50,000 in advance. He admitted he was transporting the consignment to his friend Sadid of Khanapuram, Khammam, who promised him a share of the profit. Police said efforts are on to trace Sadid and the supplier. Hyderabad: A road accident led to the arrest of a 33-year-old man transporting 16.46 kg of ganja near Bata Singaram in Abdullapurmet.
According to Abdullapurmet police, the accused, Bhukya Madhu of Khammam, rammed his car into a road divider near Nirmala Service Station on NH-65 at 9.22 pm on Friday. A patrol team reached the spot and found him behaving suspiciously. On checking the vehicle, police found two plastic bags containing several brown-taped packets of ganja placed between the seats. They seized the contraband, a mobile phone and the vehicle.

Police counsel suspect sheets
Jeedimetla police counselled persons with suspect sheets within its limits on August 16, warning them of strict action and the opening of gang files if they indulged in crime. Officials said suspect sheets of those maintaining good conduct for years would be closed. DI Kanakaiah cautioned them against engaging in criminal activities.
Auto driver murdered in Allapur
An auto driver was found dead at his residence in Rajiv Gandhi Nagar, Allapur, on Friday morning, in what police suspect to be a murder. Inspector Venkat Reddy said the deceased, Mohammed Shadul, 27, originally from Basava Kalyan, Karnataka, had migrated to Hyderabad a few years ago. He married Tabusa Begam in 2021, and the couple has a three-year-old daughter.
Police said Shadul had frequent quarrels with his wife over her alleged extramarital affair with one Toufeeq, a resident of the same locality. On Friday, he was found dead with visible injuries. Following the incident, Tabusa, their daughter and Toufeeq went missing, raising suspicion of their involvement in the murder. A case has been registered and a postmortem was conducted at Gandhi Hospital. Investigation is underway.
