Husband Accused Of Torturing Wife; Community Seeks Arrest

JANGAON: The National Vaddera Association has demanded the immediate arrest of a man accused of subjecting his wife to years of physical and mental abuse and attempting to murder her after a love marriage.
According to the association, Moku Mahender Reddy, a resident of Obula Keshavapur village in Jangaon district, married Madhavi, who belongs to the Vaddera community. Association leaders alleged that she had been subjected to continuous harassment over the past eight years and that Mahender Reddy allegedly attempted to murder her on August 3.
Madhavi, who sustained serious injuries in the alleged attack, is undergoing treatment at the Jangaon Area Hospital.
A delegation of the National Vaddera Association, led by Hanamkonda district president Gandikota Sampath, visited the hospital on Thursday to enquire about her condition, extend financial assistance for her treatment and assure the family of its support.
Addressing the media, the association demanded the immediate arrest of Mahender Reddy and his family members, alleging that they had also assisted in the attempted murder. The leaders urged the police to initiate stringent legal action against all those involved and vowed to continue their agitation until justice is delivered to the victim.
Among those present were National Chief Adviser Pallapu Sammaiah, State Vice-President Pallapu Kumaraswamy, State Secretary Pallapu Venkanna, district women's president Bosu Rajeswari, district leader Konchem Kumar, district social media in-charge Bontha Ranjith, Pallapu Naveen, Ainavolu mandal president Otu Rajkumar, the mandal youth president, and other association leaders, women representatives and community elders.
