Grama Palana Officer in ACB Net
The farmer had applied for the correction through Mee Seva after purchasing two acres from his father via a gift deed
KARIMNAGAR: Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials on Thursday caught Athmakur grama palana officer (GPO) Maathe Rajesh of Metpalli mandal while allegedly accepting a `5,000 bribe from a farmer.
According to the ACB officials, Rajesh had reportedly demanded the amount to submit a favourable enquiry report for correcting the complainant's father's name in a pattadar passbook.
The farmer had applied for the correction through Mee Seva after purchasing two acres from his father via a gift deed. Unwilling to pay the bribe, he approached the ACB, which laid a trap. Acting on Rajesh's instructions, the complainant placed the cash in the officer's handbag, following which ACB officials swooped in and caught him red-handed. Further investigation is underway.
