Heavy Rains Likely Across Telangana and Andhra Pradesh; Weather Alerts Issued

HYDERABAD: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy rainfall in several parts of Telangana over the next five days as the Southwest Monsoon remains active and a trough continues to influence weather conditions across the region.
According to the forecast, isolated heavy showers are likely on Monday in Nizamabad, Jagtial, Rajanna Sircilla, Peddapalli, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Mahabubabad, Mahabubnagar and Nagarkurnool districts.
The rain activity is expected to intensify on Tuesday, with Jagtial, Rajanna Sircilla, Kamareddy, Medak, Nalgonda and Suryapet districts likely to receive heavy downpours.
Meanwhile, the Andhra Pradesh State Disaster Management Authority (APSDMA) has issued an Orange Alert for parts of the state over the next few hours.
APSDMA Managing Director Prakhar Jain said the alert covers Eluru, NTR, Krishna, Guntur, Palnadu, Bapatla and Prakasam districts, where heavy rain, gusty winds and lightning are expected.
Authorities have advised residents in the affected areas to remain vigilant, avoid unnecessary travel during intense weather conditions and take precautions against lightning strikes and strong winds.
