Health Minister Discusses Medical Reforms with Telangana Government Doctors

Health minister Damodar Rajanarasimha discussed measures to strengthen medical services in government hospitals and issues faced by doctors, with representatives of Telangana Government Doctors Association here on Wednesday.

Hyderabad:Health minister Damodar Rajanarasimha discussed measures to strengthen medical services in government hospitals and issues faced by doctors, with representatives of Telangana Government Doctors Association here on Wednesday.

Doctors raised concerns about GO MS No. 142, and requested corrections. They also asked the minister to approve DMHO posts in every district and sanction 66 civil surgeon general posts in 33 districts.

The association also requested promotions of public health doctors, an increase in posts based on cadre strength, and civil surgeon promotions based on vertical seniority. They also appealed to retain dental doctors in public health department.

Minister Rajanarsimha responded to their requests and directed health secretary Dr Christina Z. Chongthu to submit a report on resolving the issues.

The meeting was attended by Dr Chongthu, public health director Dr B. Ravinder Naik and Telangana Government Doctors Association members.
