Hyderabad: A vacation bench of the Telangana High Court has pulled up officials of Madhapur and Gachibowli while hearing a plea filed by Y. Swarnalatha Reddy, the wife of TTD ex-chairman Y.V. Subba Reddy, saying police officials had violated an injunction order.

Swarnalatha Reddy approached the court complaining against the DCP and ACP of Madhapur Division and an inspector of Gachibowli. She alleged the officials were attempting to evict her from a two-acre land parcel in survey number 87/2 of Kondapur village of Serilingampally in Rangareddy district. Her counsel said in spite of several representations on breach of court orders, the police were not taking action against the violators and supporting the persons who were trying to take possession of the land.

Hearing the petition, Justice J. Sreenivas Rao made it clear that the police cannot act on their own discretion when injunction orders have been passed.

Representing Swarnalatha Reddy, senior counsel Vinod Kumar Deshpande and Rohit Pogula contended the police were acting at the behest of certain "influential" private persons.

They said the High Court had earlier dismissed the private persons' appeal, in which they had challenged the injunction orders issued in favour of the petitioner.

The judge directed the police to take appropriate action, in accordance with the law, on the representations of the petitioner and directed the private parties to file counters.
