Adilabad: Former minister T. Harish Rao on Sunday alleged that the state government had failed to procure paddy from farmers, claiming that 30 per cent of the produce was still lying at procurement centres.

Addressing a party meeting at Peddapalli, he said farmers, employees and students would respond to the Congress government in the future.

He criticised the proposed ‘Farmers DISCOM’, alleging it would add to farmers’ difficulties. He said farmers were already facing issues due to non-receipt of Rythu Bharosa and irregular power supply, and claimed that Rythu Bheema had not been sanctioned for the past four months.

He called on party cadre and leaders to intensify protests against what he termed anti-people policies of the state government and asked MLAs and former legislators to stay connected with the public.

He said the party would recognise the efforts of committed leaders and workers.

Karimnagar MLA Gangula Kamalakar, Huzurabad MLA Kaushik Reddy, former MLA Manohar Reddy, former minister Koppula Eshwar and other leaders were present.
