Karimnagar: The three-day Pedda Hanuman Jayanti festivities at the historic Sri Anjaneya Swamy Temple in Kondagattu of Malliala mandal in Jagtial district concluded on a grand note on Tuesday with thousands of devotees from across the state thronging the hill shrine.

The celebrations commenced on Saturday evening with traditional rituals including Yagashala Shuddi, Ankurarpana and the lighting of the Akhanda Deepam. The temple atmosphere remained vibrant throughout the three days with Vedic chants, devotional songs, and cultural programmes.

In a major highlight, sacred Shesha Vastrams arrived from the Bhadrachalam Sri Ramachandra Swamy Temple to the Kondagattu Shrine on Sunday, May 10. Priests and authorities received these with high honours, followed by rituals such as Agni Pratistha and Havana.

On Tuesday, coinciding with the deity's birth anniversary, the temple opened early for Thirumanjana and special Dravida Prabhanda recitations. Priests adorned the deity with silk clothes and betel leaves for the Sahasra Nagavalli Archana.

The festivities reached a crescendo with Maha Purnahuti and a spectacular Garuda Vahana Seva in the evening, within the processional idols taken out in procession participated in by thousands of cheering devotees.

Government whips Chinthakunta Vijaya Ramana Rao (Peddapalli MLA) and Aadi Srinivas (Vemulawada MLA) visited the shrine on the concluding day. They performed special prayers and received Vedic blessings from the temple priests.
