HYDERABAD: A special team of Jubilee Hills police, under the direct supervision of police commissioner V.C. Sajjanar has arrested another accused in a case involving a gang that posed as wealthy individuals to lure and blackmail young women, including minors.

The latest arrest is of Jitender, an associate of Koduri Chandrashekhar Azad alias Arjun, who has already been booked under the Pocso Act. Police disclosed that eight persons have so far been arrested, including Arjun, his brother Ritesh, mother Meena Kumari, and uncle, who allegedly trained the gang in impersonating rich men to trap victims.

Investigators revealed that Arjun confessed to extorting ₹13 lakh from a 17‑year‑old minor. He admitted to using Instagram posts of luxury cars and clubbing scenes to attract women. During interrogation, he detailed how he lured victims with deceptive promises and threats.

Commissioner Sajjanar personally questioned Arjun for an hour, directing officers to pursue the case with priority and ensure stern action. Police sources said five complaints have been received so far, and special teams are hunting for other conspirators, including Meena Kumari’s aides Saraswati, Nishanth, and Sreejith, who remain at large.
