Govt Land Must Be Clearly Demarcated: Hanamkonda Collector

HANAMKONDA: Hanamkonda collector Chahat Bajpai directed revenue officials to take stringent measures to protect government land from encroachment. She instructed them to identify government land, clearly demarcate its boundaries and install warning boards wherever necessary.

The collector on Monday inspected land proposed for allotment as burial grounds for Christian and Muslim communities in the Madikonda village of the Kazipet mandal. She sought details from officials regarding the extent of the site, availability of government land and relevant land records.

She directed RDO Venkatesh and Kazipet tahsildar Raju to complete the site and records verification related to the proposed burial grounds and submit the necessary proposals as per rules.

Bajpai instructed officials to verify details of government lands on the ground against official records and maintain continuous surveillance to prevent unauthorised encroachments. She stressed the need to prioritise the protection of government lands that have already been identified.

The collector also directed officials to thoroughly examine the status of land, records and suitability of sites while proposing government land allocations for public purposes and submit proposals without delay.
