Govt Aims to Make Schools Akin to Corporate Institutions: Sridhar Babu

Hyderabad: The Telangana government is committed to developing government schools on a par with corporate educational institutions, IT and Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu said on Wednesday.
Speaking after inaugurating the Foundation for Democratic Reforms (FDR) Science Centre at the ZP Girls' High School in Alwal, Medchal-Malkajgiri district, Sridhar Babu said the government was according priority to the education and healthcare sectors while promoting scientific temper and creativity among students.
He said the State was creating an ecosystem to encourage innovation and support young people in converting ideas into products with societal applications. Institutions such as T-Hub, T-Works and WE-Hub were providing support to innovators, he added.
Emphasising the growing importance of innovation and skills, the Minister urged students to develop a scientific outlook by questioning, exploring and seeking solutions to real-life problems.
Sridhar Babu appealed to the Foundation for Democratic Reforms to establish similar science centres in government schools across the State and assured it of the government's support for the initiative.
