Fresh Clash Row Between BJP, BRS Leaders In Karimnagar
Tension resurfaced in Karimnagar after a BJP corporator’s alleged remarks against BRS MLA Gangula Kamalakar led to protests and preventive police action.
A fresh dispute between BJP and BRS leaders led to tension in Karimnagar town on Wednesday, days after a clash between supporters of the two parties.
BJP corporator Bandari Venu reportedly released a video in which he made derogatory comments against local MLA Gangula Kamalakar. In the video, Venu questioned the MLA over sharing details of his family members’ land dispute on social media.
Following the video, BRS workers reportedly attempted to reach Venu’s house. Police intervened and took them into custody at the MLA’s camp office.
Police also took Venu into preventive custody and deployed personnel at his residence and the MLA’s camp office to prevent any untoward incident.
Meanwhile, BRS student wing leader Ponnam Anil Kumar Goud lodged a complaint against Venu at the Karimnagar II Town police station.
Venu was elected as a corporator on a BRS ticket and later joined the BJP.
