Former Bhongir MLA Passes Away at 83

The Chief Minister conveyed his condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace

Nalgonda: Former Bhongir MLA Kommidi Narsimha Reddy passed away on Tuesday morning due to age-related ailments. He was 83.

Narsimha Reddy had been undergoing treatment at Nizam's Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS) in Hyderabad for the past 20 days. His health deteriorated in recent days and he breathed his last at the hospital. His mortal remains were shifted to his daughter's residence at Ramanthapur in Hyderabad. The last rites will be held at his native village, Brahmanapally in Bibinagar mandal of Yadadri-Bhongir district. He is survived by two sons and two daughters.

A senior Congress leader, Narsimha Reddy was elected as the MLA from the Bhongir Assembly constituency in 1978 and 1983. He earned the title “Bhoodan Reddy” after donating 300 acres of land to the Bhoodan movement. He also actively participated in the first phase of the 1969 Telangana movement and founded Praja Chaithanya Vedika. He was known to be a close associate of former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Marri Chenna Reddy.

Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy expressed profound grief over Narsimha Reddy's demise, describing him as a leader who lived a life of integrity and selfless public service. He recalled his contributions to the Telangana movement, his campaigns for Godavari water and Musi river protection, and his remarkable land donation to the Bhoodan movement. The Chief Minister conveyed his condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace.
