Hyderabad: Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO) is organising a program on “Customs Schemes for Exporters: Benefits, Procedures and Compliances” on October 9 at Hyderabad in association with ICICI Bank, according to Ministry of Commerce and Industry.

The program is aimed at creating awareness among exporters, manufacturers, MSMEs and trade stakeholders about key customs schemes and facilitation measures available for international trade, with particular emphasis on benefits, eligibility, procedures, documentation and compliance requirements.

The program will cover a range of important topics, including an overview of customs facilitation for exporters, including the role of customs in export promotion, ICEGATE and electronic customs procedures, risk management system and faceless assessment.

Duty-free Import Schemes, including Advance Authorisation, Duty Free Import Authorisation (DFIA), eligibility, conditions, application and documentation, Export Promotion Capital Goods (EPCG) Scheme, including import of capital goods at concessional/zero Customs duty, export obligations, procedures and compliance will be covered along with Special Customs Procedures and Facilitation, including bonded manufacturing/warehousing, exports under bond/LUT and Customs warehousing provisions.

Eligible Manufacturer Scheme and AEO/Customs Facilitation, covering eligibility, benefits to compliant manufacturers/exporters and procedural requirements and customs compliance for exporters, including shipping bill and supporting documents, classification and valuation, country-of-origin requirements, record keeping, audit, common errors and penalties will be covered part from digital customs and ICEGATE services.

Senior officials from the Customs Commissionerate, Hyderabad will make detailed presentations on the above topics and interact with participants to address practical issues relating to Customs procedures and compliance. Officials from bank will also participate and address on financial opportunities.

The program is intended to provide participants with practical insights into customs schemes and facilitate better understanding of the procedures and documentation required to effectively utilise the available facilities, said Unnikrishnan K, Joint Director General, FIEO.
