Family Seeks MEA Help To Bring Back Anshul’s Body
Remembering her brother, Tanvi described him as cheerful and kind‑hearted
HYDERABAD: The family of 28‑year‑old Hyderabad resident Anshul Kuncha, who was shot dead while delivering a pizza in the United States, has appealed to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) to speed up the process of bringing his mortal remains back to India.
Speaking to the media on Sunday, Anshul’s sister Tanvi Kuncha requested the authorities to ensure that his body is repatriated at the earliest. “The only request that I have from the Ministry of External Affairs is to bring back my brother’s body as soon as possible. We do not want his body to remain there for so long,” she said.
Remembering her brother, Tanvi described him as cheerful and kind‑hearted. She said Anshul had moved to the US to pursue a Master’s degree in Business Analytics at Drexel University and later secured a full‑time job at a multinational company. He continued working part‑time at a pizza delivery shop on weekends.
According to the family, Anshul had been called to deliver pizzas to a vacant house. After completing the delivery and walking back to his vehicle, he was allegedly shot in the head from behind.
The incident took place shortly after 12.30 am on Friday at the Raymond Rosen Homes housing complex in North Philadelphia. Police found Anshul with a gunshot wound to the head and rushed him to hospital, where he was declared dead.
Investigators later discovered that the delivery address was a vacant apartment. Surveillance footage reportedly shows Anshul being followed by two individuals dressed in dark clothing before the shooting. Authorities have identified the phone number used to place the order and are continuing their investigation.
