Family Escapes Upparpally Flat Fire
Family escapes as blaze damages furniture and household items in Naidu Colony
Hyderabad: A fire broke out in a flat at Naidu Colony in Upparpally within the limits of Rajendranagar police station on Thursday night, reportedly due to a short circuit. No casualties were reported in the incident. The family members living in the flat had gone out around half an hour before the fire broke out, an officer said.
According to fire officer Chandra Naik, the incident occurred at around 10 pm. Locals noticed flames coming from the flat and alerted the fire services. A fire engine reached the spot and brought the blaze under control.
The fire damaged furniture and other household items, causing an estimated loss of around `4 lakh, Naik said. The preliminary assessment indicated that the fire was caused by a short circuit, the officer added.
