Hyderabad police booked a constable for allegedly concealing his marriage while continuing a decade-long relationship with another woman.
Uppal police booked a constable for allegedly cheating two women by concealing his marriage to one woman, while continuing a decade-long relationship with another, whom he allegedly promised to marry.
According to the complaint, the accused, identified as Arun Kumar, a constable posted at Lakdikapul, has been in a relationship with the complainant, who was his classmate, since 2015. The woman stated that Kumar repeatedly assured her that he would marry her and continued the relationship for nearly 10 years.
The complainant further alleged that she became pregnant several times since 2015 and that Kumar made her undergo abortions using tablets. She also alleged that he continued to maintain the relationship, while concealing that he already married another woman.
Kumar married another woman on July 1 without informing the complainant. Despite the marriage, he allegedly continued his relationship with the complainant and gave her the impression that they would get married. The complainant said that Kumar and she had planned to get married on November 1 and had even paid an advance of `50,000 to a function hall for the wedding.
After learning about his marriage, the woman approached the Uppal police and lodged a complaint. Police registered a case against Kumar under several sections, including provisions of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.
Police took Kumar into custody and produced him before a court, which sent him to judicial remand.
