Medak: The renowned pilgrimage site, Edupayala Vana Durgamma Temple, remains submerged for the third consecutive day due to heavy flooding in the region. In response, temple authorities have installed a ceremonial idol of the goddess at the Rajagopuram to facilitate darshan for devotees. Special abhisheka rituals and decorative offerings are being performed at the new location.

The Vanadurga bank is currently overflowing after receiving an inflow of 25,000 cusecs of floodwater from the Nakka Vagu in Singur into the Vanadurga lake. As a result, the river in front of the sanctum sanctorum is flowing rapidly past the Rajagopuram.
To ensure the safety of devotees, outpost personnel have barricaded the area around the Vanadurga Dam and deployed tight security, restricting access to the temple premises.
Temple Executive Officer Chandrashekhar stated that normal darshan at the sanctum will resume once the floodwaters recede. The Irrigation Department is closely monitoring the situation.
