DSP Imposter Held For ₹1.20‑Crore Fraud

HYDERABAD: The Central Crime Station, detective department, staff arrested an imposter wanted since 2021 for cheating victims in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh to the tune of over ₹1.2 crore. The accused, Konduru Reddy Venkat Raju, alias KVP Raju alias DSP Raju, was arrested from his native place in Rayachoti, Annamayya district, AP, and brought to Hyderabad CCS.

He offered property documents and post‑dated cheques to gain confidence, and later threatened victims by claiming to be an “encounter specialist”. Acting on a complaint from a city‑based man cheated of ₹1.20 crore, CCS‑DD‑EOW Team‑V headed by SI G. Anil Kumar arrested Raju under the guidance of ACP K. Kiran.
